 COUNTY BANK KITE FUN FLY

September 7th 2008 at Merced College

Free to the public

 (Merced, CA) September 7th 2008 -  Spring is in the air, and Merced Kiwanis Club and County Bank is excited to gather families for the best “ G” rated event in the area. 

Dust off that old kite and join us for  the 6th annual County Bank Kite Fun Fly Saturday, September 7th 2008 at the Merced College football practice field. 

(Yosemite & G Street in Merced)  The festival will be from 10am –4pm for kite lovers, friends, and families to come out for face painting, music by KABX (DaveLuna),colorful gigantic kites,Safety demonstrations by Merced Police Dept, Fire Dept,and PGE ,kite academy, a newspaper kite making contest, food, entertainment, and clowns on parade.  Marie Callenders will host a delicious pie-eating contest and Savemart will sponsor a candy drop for the kids.  The County Bank Kite Fun Fly is free admission to the public.

 The County Bank Fun Fly will coincide with the kite-making contest put on by the Merced Sun-Star.  You must pre-register for the kite contest, which will have wonderful prizes for the winners. (Call Merced Sun-Star at 209-722-1511 to pre-register.) or www.mercedkiteclub.org/registration.htm

 April is National kite Month.  The County Bank Kite Fun Fly is a fundraiser for The Boys & Girls Club of Merced County. Local businesses, kids, families, and the surrounding communities will benefit from the opportunity to come together for kite making, demonstrations, kite lessons, and flying as well as vendors selling read made reasonably priced kites for all to enjoy.
